

The Wright Brothers National Memorial in Kill Devil Hills, North Carolina, commemorates the accomplishments of Wilbur and Orville Wright. It is the location of the first sustained powered flight on December 17, 1903. The Memorial sits atop a ninety foot tall hill. The sixty foot tall memorial is made of granite and was completed in 1932.
